Leisure & Recreation: Yoga, Pilates, Contemporary Dance

Aglaia Zafeiroudi teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses (Leisure, Sustainability, Recreation Activities, Yoga, Pilates, Dance). She graduated from the Department of Physical Education & Sports Science of the University of Thessaly. She holds a PhD in Exercise and Quality of Life and MSc in Human Performance and Health. She also holds over 50 international and national certifications in the fields of yoga, pilates, modern dance, aerials, mindfulness & meditation therapy, leisure & outdoors, theater & cinema. She has published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She is a reviewer in international scientific journals and in the editorial board of a national scientific journal. Her scientific work has been presented at many international and national conferences. She is scientific coordinator and participates in research programs related to movement and sports. She has published 7 books and chapters about recreation, yoga, pilates and dance for children and adults. Additionally, Aglaia designs and implements educational research programs at the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning, University of Thessaly. She is one of the founding members of the "Applied Leisure Sciences Laboratory: Outdoor, Sports, Arts" and she leads artistic projects. She is an active official member and trainer in 12 professional and scientific institutions in Greece and abroad. She has extensive experience in teaching and scientific guidance of programs in dance, pilates, yoga schools and studios. She has taken part in more than 40 international and national competitions in dance and gymnastics. Her interests include cinema and theater while she performs aerial dance shows, as well as she participates in commercials and films about the promotion of tourism through leisure activities.
